ARTS CULTURE HERITAGE

The City of Ipswich Pipe Band started the event 30 years ago and it was previously know as the Ipswich Gathering of the Clans. The event has grown significantly over time, and in 2021 attracted an attendance of 7,860.

The Gathering is now presented by Limestone Events Inc. a local not-for-profit association with the objective of conducting activities which promote the arts, culture and heritage in Ipswich. A group of dedicated volunteers coordinates this annual event.

Our vision is to become a major multi-day cultural festival on the Australian calendar.

About

EDUCATING
THE FUTURE

The City of Ipswich Pipe Band is regarded as one of the worlds most dedicated pipe bands with strong governance a cornerstone of its success. The band runs one of Australia's largest pipe band education programs at the Greater Ipswich College of Piping and Drumming  (GICOPAD). The band aims to develop this program to reach hundreds of local youth in an accessible and inclusive environment.

Through an event licencing agreement, profits from The Gathering are used to support this program by subsidising equipment and

education costs.
