  • Do I need to be vaccinated for COVID-19 to attend or volunteer at The Gathering?
    There has been a further relaxation in COVID-19 restrictions by Queensland Government specifically around the need to be vaccinated at venues and events. This means that attendees and volunteers at The Gathering will not be required to be vaccinated. However, attendees must comply with any current and future restrictions and directions issued by the Federal or State Government in relation to COVID-19 and at all times we ask that you maintain social distancing and practice good hygiene to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
  • What can I bring to The Gathering?
    You are welcome to bring a camping chair and rug to sit on. Some seating is provided in dining areas, indoor venues and in the Grandstand. We also encourage you to wear sensible footwear as there are a number of sloped and uneven outdoor areas at the Ipswich Turf Club. While there are some shaded/sheltered areas across the site, please bring sunscreen and a hat. Also, watch the sky and the BOM radar and prepare for rain or shine as we are an all-weather event. If the forecast is for rain please bring suitable shoes, gumboots, a poncho or raincoat or a rain umbrella.
  • What items are prohibited at the event?
    The following items are prohibited at The Gathering: BYO alcohol. The Gathering has a licensed bar where alcohol is available for purchase. The entire venue at the Ipswich Turf Club is a licensed area. Sunshades, sun/beach umbrellas, tents, and tables. Reclining chairs, beanbags, blow-up air chairs or lounges. Eskies. There may be security checks at the gate and you will not be permitted entry with these prohibited items.
  • What type of chair can I bring?
    You are permitted to bring a standard camping chair and/or rug. Reclining chairs, beanbags, blow-up air chairs or lounges are prohibited. Please only position camping chairs on flat surfaces/areas and avoid sloped and uneven ground. Also, please be considerate of other patrons when positioning your chair so as not to block the view of others.
  • What ticket types are available?
    We offer single day and full weekend general admission tickets, along with a youth pass and clan pass for families. We offer Carer/Companion Card Holders and Toddlers (3 yrs and under) free admission (Terms and Conditions apply). We do not offer further concession pricing.   • Where can I find performance times?
    Free printed programmes will be available on event day from our Information Tent located directly inside the Main Entrance Gate. A downloadable program will also be available on our website from mid May. ​ The program will detail the schedules for the Main Arena, Highland Dancers, Queensland Pipe Band Spectacular, Ceilidh Centre and the Discovery Centre.
  • Can I bring my own alcohol?
    No, alcohol is available to purchase from the bar. The bar is run by the Ipswich Turf Club which offers a full selection of beers, wines, and spirits. Responsible Service of Alcohol protocols are enforced. Consideration of your fellow patrons is expected at all times. Aggression, intoxication, or anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated and will result in ejection from the venue.
  • Can I bring my own food?
    You are permitted to bring your own food to the event however we do have a broad offering of food vendor’s onsite and we encourage you to sample the selection of delicious Celtic fare on offer. Every attempt is made to ensure all dietary requirements are catered to by our food vendors however if you have a specific dietary requirement it is advised that you bring your own food. Eskies will not be permitted.
  • Can I bring a stroller or pram?
    Your littlest clan members can attend in a pram or stroller. On arrival, prams may be subject to security checks. There are a number of uneven and grassy surfaces and stairs at the venue so please take care when moving about the event with your pram or stroller and please be considerate of other patrons at all times.
  • Where can I park?
    Car parking is available onsite accessed from the Wickham St entrance off Brisbane Road, via the inbound left lane. Please look for directional signage and follow the directions of the car parking marshals on-site. Please note, due to the current wet weather parking capacity has been reduced. Should these be full, you will need to head to overflow on-street parking available on Videroni St, Stafford Rd, Wearne St and Mill St (with pedestrian access to the Main Gate on TL Cooney Ave via Wearne St). Please take great care when exiting your vehicles and walking through the car park and local streets to The Gathering. If you are parking in local streets, please be very considerate of local residents and do not park over their driveways. Accessible Parking: We offer limited accessible car parking for those with a valid disabled parking sticker. We do however suggest arriving earlier in the day to secure an accessible car park. The dedicated bitumen accessible car park is available off TC Cooney Avenue, right next to our Main Gate. Please Note: There is still a short walk to the entyry gate from the accessible car park. Performers/Stallholders Parking: Performers and stallholders can either park in the general car park or along Videroni St at the Southern end of the Ipswich Turf Club. A walk-in only gate will be open at the Southern end to facilitate access into the festival. Performers with valid passes are admitted free and accompanying clan will be admitted if they hold a valid ticket. If they have not pre-purchased a ticket, they will be directed to the Main Gate to purchase one. Gold Coin Donation: Our parking is managed by the Rotary Club drawing volunteers from a number of the Rotary clubs in the district. While parking is free, we encourage you to make a gold coin donation in support of Rotary's fundraising Flood Appeal. The Gathering operates a no ticket/pass - no entry policy.
  • Is First Aid available on-site?
    There will be First Aid station located near the Information Tent inside the Main Gate (see programme for map). Please ask volunteers or event staff for direction to this location if needed. If someone requires medical attention please let a volunteer, event staff or First Aid officer know so they can provide assistance as soon as possible.
  • Are pass-outs available?
    Yes, we can provide you with a wrist band if you need to exit the venue. Please go to the Information Tent just inside the Main Gate for your wrist band.
  • What happens if it rains?
    The Gathering is an all-weather event and will go ahead unless conditions are deemed to be dangerous. If the forecast is for showers or rain please bring a raincoat, poncho or umbrella and wear suitable footwear. Please consider other patrons when moving about the venue with a rain umbrella. In the event of severe inclement weather patrons should check this website and/or our Facebook page BEFORE heading to the event. Any decision to cancel The Gathering on either Saturday or Sunday will be made as early as possible but may not be made until the morning of that day. If the event is cancelled prior to 9am on 21 May 2022, patrons will receive transfer of their ticket to the rescheduled festival date. In the unlikely event of cancellation, we will send out notifications via email to pre-purchased ticket holders and e-news subscribers.   • Can I smoke or vape on site?
    The Ipswich Turf Club is a NON-SMOKING venue. You will be required to leave the venue if you wish to smoke or vape. Pass outs wrist bands are available from the Information Tent located just inside the Main Gate.
  • Where is lost/found property located?
    If you lose something, please go to the Information Tent just inside the Main Gate to check if it has been handed in by a fellow patron. If you find something that belongs to someone else, please be a good citizen and hand it in at the Information Tent.
  • Will the programme schedule or artist line-up be likely to change?
    Occasionally changes occur that are outside of our control. Scheduled performance times and artist line-ups are subject to change. No refund will be offered in these circumstances.
  • Are EFTPOS facilities available?
    Some vendors will offer eftpos facilities and we will also have an ATM on site. However it is still recommended that patrons bring enough cash for the day as queues for the ATM can be long. Our Main Gate will only accept EFTPOS for ticket purchases.
  • Are there facilities for disabled people?
    Yes, accessible parking, toilets and viewing areas are available as follows: A dedicated accessible parking area is available off TC Cooney Ave. Companion/Carer Card holders are entitled to a free ticket for their carer (Terms and Conditions apply). Accessible toilets are located next to the lift at the northern-most building. Accessible lift access is available to get from ground level to the grandstand. If you require additional assistance, please contact us before the event or chat to our friendly staff on the day at the Information Tent inside the Main Gate. Please Note: There are some sloped and uneven areas around the Ipswich Turf Club and those patrons with mobility limitations are advised to exercise caution when moving about the venue.
  • Can I bring my hound?
    The Gathering welcomes dogs at the event as long they are a well-socialised member of your clan and you dispose of its poop! We even encourage you to dress up your hound in tartan, as we have a special section for them in our "Fashions on the Field" event. Please Note: Dogs must be on a lead at all times. If your dog is not very social with other dogs, we ask that you leave it at home or it is muzzled as aggressive dogs are not welcome and will be required to leave.
  • Are there public transport options to and from the venue?"
    Ordinarily, taking a train to and from the event is the best way to travel to The Gathering. Trains arrive and depart from Bundamba Station. The station is a 1km walk or short taxi or Uber ride from the festival site. However, Translink has advised that train services along the Ipswich line to Bundamba will not be operating on the weekend of The Gathering - 21 and 22 May. We apologise for this inconvenience.   • Can I use any of the images/content from The Gathering website for my own purposes?
    You must not use any Limestone Events trademarks, images, names, or logos without the prior written permission of Limestone Events. Any other trademarks, product names, company names, logos or images within the Limestone Events Sites are the property of their respective owners, and may not be used without the prior written permission of their respective owners.   • Are tickets available at the gate?
    The Gathering has a capped venue capacity to ensure that patrons are comfortable at all times. Given the popularity of the event in 2021, it is possible that the event may sell out before the day, so we encourage you to secure your ticket on-line before the event here. If tickets are still available for purchase at the event we will have cash and card-purchasing facilities at the Main Gate. HOWEVER, please check our ticketing page for availability before heading to the event.
  • What do I do if I can't find my ticket?
    If you can't find your ticket, firstly look for the confirmation email sent by Humanitix at the time of ticket purchase. This email will come from Also check your junk or spam email folders! If you still can't find your ticket please contact Humanitix Customer Support here. If you forget your ticket on the day, you will need to show our ticketing staff photo ID to search the ticketing database. This is only possible if the ticket is in your name or you are with the person who purchased the ticket.
  • Can I get a refund?
    If The Gathering has been cancelled (without a rescheduled event) or there are legal requirements that provide otherwise (including those of the Australian Consumer Law), tickets will be refunded. Refunds will not be provided if you change your mind. ​ In the event of cancellation all ticket transfer details will be clearly posted on our website and Facebook page.
  • Who do I contact if I have an inquiry about my ticket purchase?

  • I purchased tickets online but my confirmation email never arrived, what do I do?
    If you can't find your ticket, firstly look again for the confirmation email sent by Humanitix at the time of ticket purchase.
